End of May Progress

It's already the end of May. I'm late getting my vegies planted, but it was too hot to work in the gardens for very long the last few days. Cooler weather will be arriving, soon.
I did some stitching on my PPP #3, and it's almost finished.




I love this variegated thread

Just a wee bit more to do.





On the Crewel Piece, flower #2 is finished.
Flower #3 is underway.

      Thanks Dianne! Now I can garden in the morning and early evening, and stitch in the heat of the day. What's that? What about housework, you ask? Hahahahahah! ;-D *:)) laughing

    The purple project is stunning Suz, as it the stitching below.
    planting veggies is just SO statisfying.I've put in beans for Winter.Not everyone likes broad beans but I love them, and they grow so well.

      You're right about the gardening Judy. It's satisfying going out to the garden to pick one's supper, knowing that your efforts have produced food for the table. I used to grow pickling cucumbers and dill and make my own garlic dill pickles, put down jars of stewed tomatoes, and jams and jellies. When I was younger and had a family to feed. I haven't grown broad beans, just the regular green and yellow beans, and scarlet runner beans. Thanks.

    our projects are coming along so well. Here it is cold never mind summer! Had to wear the winter coat yesterday and will need it today too

      Sorry you're having such cold weather, Margaret. I hope it warms up for you soon. Spring just arrived here in the last week and a half, but it got real hot very fast, but will cool down over the next week to more normal temperatures. Thanks.

    You accomplish so much, and your stitching is always so beautiful! I leave the gardening to Dave. I don't deal well with sun or heat, but I do enjoy sitting in the shade of the porch and admiring his efforts! ;-)

      Thanks Diane! I don't deal well with too much heat either-- it zaps me. I wear a hat to protect me from the sun and try to garden in the cooler hours of the day. DH does the grass, but the rest is up to me.......

    Of course I love your purple block!! Our 'garden' got planted over the weekend - all of two tomato plants, three lettuces and a teeny little pot of chives. That's all we can fit on our little balcony.

      Thanks MA! Purple is a fave of mine, too. Be prepared for lots more......;-) I planted 3 tomato plants yesterday. With all the gardening I've been doing lately, balcony-size sounds good! lol

    Your purple piece is stunning and I love the crewel work too.
    I don't have enough sun in my garden to grow vegies, but I don't want to get rid of the trees, so I concentrate on colourful shrubs! Enjoy your spring weather. Cheers

      Colourful shrubs add nice focal spots against the green trees and grass, I think. Our former home had 1 sunny area, but the rest was shady, and it was cool on a hot day. I think shade gardens are quite peaceful, too. Thanks Robin.
