It's Finished!

The wedding piece is finally fini! Which is a very good thing as we'll be driving down the highway this morning to deliver it to the happy couple.
There were a few changes made, a slight disaster with the damp stretching! and difficulties with stitching the back, but thankfully, the wedding piece is framed. You may notice some colouring around the edges from the photo running when the water came a bit too close, but it's just some antiquing of the piece......;-o... well, that's my story, anyway. A bit of added flower clusters helps, I think, to disguise things a bit..........
Silk ribbon flowers were added and beads peeking through some of the bullions, and beads on the clusters.......
The photos speak for themselves, although I must point out the fabulous intarsia frame DH has made for this. Believe it or not, it's his first intarsia piece!

We learned quite a bit creating this wedding piece. I think a plain border around the stitching might look better. Perhaps we'll try that on the next one!

Just a few photos of some of the flowers in my garden this week:

I shall be away on holiday next week, so no post as I shan't have computer access.
Have a fun and creative two weeks.

Thanks for visiting.

Almost There

The Wedding Piece embroidery is almost finished!
I may add another leaf or two, or a bit of silk ribbon embroidery at the top before I add the beads.

Sorry some of the photos are a little dark--it's been a rainy, overcast morning.

Do you think it looks balanced?

Next time I hope to have photos of the completed piece with the fabulous frame my DH has created.
In the garden, a few new flowers have appeared.

 edible pod peas
lettuce
 Mmmmm, cherry tomatoes

It won't be long now before we're enjoying toasted tomato sandwiches! Yum. Or maybe BLT's!................or
cheddar and tomato............or.......;-)

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. May you have a creative week ahead.

Thanks for visiting.

July Madness

As the wedding date approaches, I am stitching madly to finish the Wedding Piece. You can see my progress here

In the garden, there are lots of flowers blooming. I'll let the photos do the talking.

More fun with the gelli plate created these:
The first print is on the right: the ghost print is on the left, and I much prefer it

ghost print #2

Taking the print above, top right, I added new colours and a new stencil to create this:
I like it better this way. Do you?
This stencil was created with cut up, sticky-backed foam pieces on a cardboard base.
These last three prints were made with a cut up, plastic, strawberry container. I really like the design it makes.

I hope you've had a wonderfully, creative week.

Thanks for visiting.
