Birdy

I made a cute birdy for my thread roll-up ( StitchMAP CQ Course) and a friend wrote to say she'd fallen in LOVE .
(it's yellow and orange, and sitting on the tree branch)

So, I offered to make her one, but she wouldn't tell me her preferred colour..........

I had this funky blue yarn with metallic strands
both the wing and the tail are in the 'funky fur'

I think he needs a trim ...lol

I made the bird on felt so my friend could use it as an applique........

she'll have to add the legs.......and trim the fur
but then I wondered if birdy would look better with a woven picot wing...

eyelash yarn makes the tail, but it's neat having a wing that moves.......
then I thought, maybe purple....hmmm
boy that purple is bright

back to the fuzzy eyelash yarn wing on a two-tone purple body.........

the funky trio

I wonder which one I'll send to my friend?

they're all kinda cute

but not as cute as the real thing!

Hope you're having a great day!
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs from Suz

  1. Your birds look terrific and your friend will be thrilled with the one you send her. Nice picture of the hummingbird at your feeder. I've been trying to get a pic of the one that's coming to ours but he flits away too fast!
