With the finish of my December block, I completed CQJP 2013! Yay!
Here's how they'll fit together for my Lace and Roses wall hanging.
Next, I need to add a border between each, then add lots and lots of lace!
Work on piece #10 of my wrapping cloth has begun with a row of french knots and the start of buttonhole lace.......
I am smitten with the strip of lace across the top. It's pinned in place for now.
Piece # 10 is rather small, so it won't be long until it's fully titivated..........I hope
I've been making progress on my cable blanket, and am almost half way...............
Snow arrived......
and made the neighbourhood white and fluffy.......
In keeping with the season, you might like to listen to this acapella hymn. I think it's beautiful.
Wherever you may be, I hope you're having a wonderful December.
Thanks for visiting.

Wow this is coming along wonderfully and love to look at all your work! And this beautiful picture of the winter wonderland.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mad! I'm hoping to finish this before Christmas, but that to do list is getting pretty long.........I always think the snowfall looks wonderful -- right up until I have to go out and shovel it!! lol!
DeleteHappy December.

How wonderful to have finished your lovely CQ blocks and you are ready to put them all together. This wall hanging will be a treasured heirloom for many generations. Roses and lace and your beautiful stitchings all combined into glorious beauty. Whitecloth #10 is looking amazing. Your winter snow looks beautiful. We are snowed and iced in for days now. It is extremely cold and frozen here. No way for the snow or ice to melt with temps at 32F or below. Sipping hot cocoa sitting by the fire and stitching will keep you warm and happy. December Delights Dear...
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased all the blocks are stitched, Sherry. Now, to get them put together..........
DeleteWinter has been here for a while now, but it was too cold for snow. This morning it was -9C when I got up........brrrr
I shall picture you having your cup of tea at your fancy table, warming up your toes.......gee, wish we had a fireplace in our new home......oh, well, I can cozy up on the loveseat under a fake-fur blanket and warm my toes that way.
Merry Merry!

I was all 'oooooh pretty' until I hit the last picture! Snow - yuck (and it sounds like we're in for another lot of it in the next two or three days...sigh). Your lace and roses piece is looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI know you've had a bit of snow already, but I hope we don't get too much in the next week......calling for snow every day....yuck!.......bitterly cold today in the wind. Thanks for the kind words. Merry Merry!

Your blocks will make a fantastic wall hanging which will showcase your beautiful work! Well done! Your street is looking very Christmassy!
ReplyDeleteYou should see all the Christmas lights at night--it's really Christmasy then, too. Thanks Janet!

Somehow I missed this post till today - what beautiful work you have done, you must be really thrilled with it. I love the snowy picture, and sometimes I think that just once I would like to experience a white Christmas - when I have never even been in snow! Then I think I have got too old for that and my joints would prefer to stay in the tropics! Have a wonderful Christmas and thanks for visiting my blog. Cheers
DeleteThank you, Robin! I think snow looks very romantic, beautiful, and pristine. The reality can be wet, slippery, cold, and dangerous......but then, I think it would be really weird to spend Christmas on a hot, sunny beach! lol It looks enticing, but it would be strange for me to have heat and humidity. I guess it's all in what we're accustomed to.........and those joints can ache in the damp and cold........
DeleteI hope to have my wall hanging completed by the New Year, but it might not happen as planned........ lol
Merry Christmas! and Happy New Year!
Hugs
Your CQ blocks are beautiful and will soon be all completed and ready for you to enjoy every day. Love the lace on your whitecloth. Stay warm and safe. Happy New Year Dear...
