I added some beads to the green bowl. They're on the end of drizzle dangles. The same variegated thread I used to stitch the bowl, was used for the drizzles.
Since the bowls are for the Embroidery Guild's library display, I thought they should be decorated with some embroidery. The red one wears buttonhole lace and beads.
I think the blue one will have some beads and bullions.
I've been experimenting with painting fabric, and I've chosen a few of my favourites to show. There's lots more experimenting planned for the near future. The base fabric is a white cotton.

and curly branches added to the base has it looking like this.
I'd better get cracking on lots of leaves! Oh, and grape clusters.....oh, yes, and..............well, you'll just have to wait and see!
I'm so excited that this piece is now 3/4 done!

I've been painting on fabric too! Still trying to decide where to go with it though...the green bowl is fabulous! It will be a stand-out at the exhibit.

Well, that's one of the ideas floating around in my brain..... ;-)......of course, they'd be fantastic for crazy quilting, too, fabric bowls, bags and cloth dolls..........lol

ReplyDeleteYour beaded lace creations are definitely swoon-worthy, Judy. I am enjoying the wedding piece, and now that I'm nearing the final quarter, I'm dragging my heels a bit. A part of me doesn't want to let it go......... We have a diverse group in our guild, so there'll be quirky, cute, fun, and functional items for the fiber fest. It should be a good day. Thanks.

I would love to see a top view of this green bowl! the other item are very beautiful too! Long ago I made a white corset for one of my daughters and was wondering if I could try your kind of work on it? I haven't started it yet because the white is so white and I guess I should leave the stays in it while I work on it huh? Any advice you want to through my way I could try to catch :)

DeleteI think if the stays are simple to remove, it might make it easier to stitch through the fabric. I'd love to see a photo of the corset, and we can then have a conversation about it. Okay? It sounds like a great project.

That bowl is stunning! I love all the bits of thread and curvy edges. Really is a work of heART. I too would love to see the bowl from the top.
