Midnight to Twilight

I follow Vicki Welsh's blog and a while back she asked for suggestions of colourways for her hand dyed fabrics. Vicki creates wonderful fabrics and I wish I could buy every one.
I sent in a suggestion of purples to black to specific blues, and called my idea midnight, because it was dark and rich in my mind's eye.

And I was so surprised when Vicki wrote back saying she liked my idea!

I found a wonderful surprise in the mailbox on return from my week away.
As a thank you for using my colour suggestion, Vicki sent me a yard of her fabric 'Twilight'! WooHoo!
Isn't it gorgeous?
You didn't know I was a fabric designer, did you?  lol   (I wish!)  But it was fun having a wee part in the design of this colourway.

I really love these deep tones.

Thank you so much, Vicki!  I love it!

you can see more of Vicki's fabrics here

Now I just have to decide how to use this gorgeous fabric! Any ideas?

Hope you're having a wonderful day!
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs from Suz

  4. Wasn't it? I was delightfully surprised, I can tell you. Now I can't decide whether to save this for 'something special' or just use it on the next project. Hmmmm
    Thanks Linda.

  5. Another example of how important it is to leave thoughtful comments.
You inspired a beautiful colorway and received a gift as a bonus. The fabric is gorgeous...maybe a nice winter scene???

  6. Thanks, Deb. Yes, I could see this as a winter scene......... but right now I can't think of just what that might be ....... guess I'll just have to let it stew for a while until inspiration strikes......

  12. Lucky you - doesn't Vicki do beautiful fabric?!! If this were mine, I would love to make a purse from it. I would 'fussy cut' it so that the lovely colour change would show to advantage.

  14. Yes, MA, I'm lucky, and you're right about Vicki. Hmmm, I hadn't thought about a purse, but this colourway would look super with one of your special jackets, don't you think so?
    Have a great weekend!

  15. A lovely shade of colour and so neat that you suggested it! I'm sure you'll incorporate a piece of it into all the wonderful quilting you do or maybe do some TAST on a piece as well?

  16. I'm not sure. I'd hate to cut it up and lose the transitions of colour, so I'm thinking maybe a personal quilt. ...maybe....
