Here's my stitching for this week's TAST:
a small wheel of 2 layers
7 layers
two small ones on the right of the large wheel were tightened and gathered to a point.....they look like alien plant life, I think
to the wheel cup on the left, I added buttonhole stitch to the interior spokes as well
this could be a fun stitch for flowers and baskets
the flower cup could be flared or tightened as desired
this stitch was fun to do
Thanks for visiting.

So creative! Wow, this is fun! perfect colour for the shape, too.
ReplyDeleteFox : )
Lovely stitching and I can see lots of wonderful applications for this stitch. Blissful Stitching Dear...
ReplyDeleteImpressive cups! What would happen if detached buttonhole stitches were done on a spoke (or two?) Strange structures...
ReplyDeleteIt's actually quite easy, Margaret, as long as you can do the buttonhole stitch, and that's not difficult to learn. I do like the results.

It's so much fun to stitch! Some of those perfect colours came from you, Fox! Thanks.

Hi Sherry,
ReplyDeleteYes, I can imagine lots of uses...on another 'pebble', making fences in CQing, and lots of 3-d stuff! Or using metal and making wire baskets........paper forms, too......now you got my brain firing.....

That's a good question, Marjolein. I did some buttonhole around the spokes, but it would be interesting if the spokes were done along their length. Are you going to try it?

Now this is literally a cup! Love the results. This is kind of a fun stitch to play with isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Connie. I had lots of fun!

Nice! I haven't tried doing these, but they are definitely on my to-do list.
ReplyDeleteThey can be addictive. Have fun.

your cups remind me of needlelace which now I think about it that is really what they are I think
ReplyDeleteFabulous Suz--I love doing these.
ReplyDeleteIt does look all lacy, doesn't it? It looks like the netting stitch, too, but in the round rather than a net shape.

They can be addictive, can't they, Doreen?

I've never seen this before! It's so effective!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't either, Janet, but it's like the netting stitch I used before. This is fun, and so dimensional.
