TAST and a Pebble-in-Progress

This week, TAST is the running stitch: a very simple stitch which can be used in many ways.
Here's my sampler:

I've scrolled, rolled, knotted and woven, layered and played with the running stitch. What fun.
Pebble #2 is still in progress. This is a larger one, so it has taken a bit more time to stitch.

There's a large shell under the net that DD brought home from one of her travels.....I have some more shells, too, somewhere.......I'll have to search for them.
Some of the other pebble stitchers have added shells, and they look fantastic.

This is a slightly different angle......and shot in the sunshine streaming through the window.

I think 1 or 2 more items to tack down, some beads, some french knots, and this pebble will be ready for finishing.

I plan to do that this evening.

Hope you're having fun creating today.

Thanks for visiting.
Hugs from Suz

  4. Thank you so much, Deb! I have a picture in my head of a large glass apothecary jar, it's bottom filled with the seashells DD brought home, and then lots of encrusted pebbles on top. Hmmm, guess I can't stop yet. (not that I want to! These are so addictive!) I might get that picture turned into reality.
Have you been making more pebbles?

  18. You're right, Puppet Lady, it does remind me of the beach. The pebble will be going in our new bathroom, painted a wonderfully, warm and sunny looking HC-33. And when you look out the window, you can see the beach at the lake. Perfect, don't you think?

  21. Your pebble looks great!
It also makes me curious what items you have added.
Is there lace at the left?
How did you make those "leaves" at the right? I see Josephine knots, right? What is that curly white thing in the middle?
    Sorry, too many questions ;(

  26. Thank you, Marjolein! Yes, there is a piece of lace at the left: it's from a wedding dress from a stitchin fingers friend. I hoped to create the idea of light froth, and the lace colours were just perfect.
There are 2 different kinds of leaves to the right: the solid ones are woven picot stitch, and the open weave ones are tatted. You do see josephine knots here and there, too. There are a couple of white curly things, but perhaps you refer to the loopy thing? That's tatted fancy picot stitch, which is quite easy to do. Some other white bits are created with the Josephine chain which is like the drizzle stitch. I've also added some stone chips and beads here and there. Not too many questions! I'm so pleased you want to know more about how I created this pebble. Hope this answers you, but, if not, please do ask.
