TAST Times Two and May CQJP

I've spent the weekend catching up on my stitching. I posted about my Chikan Embroidery on the Tuesday Stitchers here, but I also finished TAST for the last 2 weeks. Yep, a little late.

As both stitches were new to me, I just played a bit.
Once I got used to this stitch, it was kind of fun

I enjoyed making the square frame
I liked the half chevron stitch, and plan to use this again.
 May CQJP

here's the first element on the CQJP: Mr Snowman

Each year, when the kids were little, we'd go outside after a good snowfall, and make snow people.

I still have to add arms, and a scarf, but I wanted to share.....
I think he's sooo cute

Mr. S. is only 3 3/4" from the top of his hat to his snowy butt.

What a schnozz!

My Mother's Day bouquet was a dozen red roses ( thanks DH! ) and they looked like red velvet. Mmmmm, smelled good, too!

I hope everyone celebrating has had a wonderful Mother's Day.
I spent some time this afternoon with needle in hand and wonderful memories of my Mother. I miss her.

Thanks for visiting.

Hugs from Suz

  1. Suztats,
Happy Mother's day to you too! Wow, you are doing amazing learning your stitches. It's great to see your work. Love that Mr. Snowman! Will he be lucky to have a wife? Yes, I still see your house full of snow family. (LOL)

  2. I had an idea that you'd ask about Mr. S's wife.......and I sure hope she shows up on a future block so they can go snowdancing together!

  8. It is a relief to catch up, Margaret. I lost my Mom 10 years ago. She passed away at age 79, but that seems too early.
I'm glad you like my snowman. We had about 3 1/2 feet of snow this year....about average according to the stats, but still too much for me.

  12. I did, thank you, Karen: Lunch out on Saturday, all my meals and coffees, teas made for me on the Sunday, beautiful roses, and my DH even did the dishes! The only thing that could make it better would have been to have my kids home for the day, but at least I spoke with them by phone.
My CQJP is a Christmas theme, so there may be more snowmen, or Christmas trees, or.......lol
Hope you're having a wonderful stitching day.

  15. Thanks Marjolein. I used a fancy knitting yarn for the body, one that has a plain and a fuzzy fiber. I think it worked well. Have some stitching fun.
