Umm, that should probably read: Fun with a Glue Gun.
While surfing one day, I came across this post about making glue stencils and thought I'd give it a try. Once I found my glue gun, I set up my work table, and began playing.
I began with a squiggle
then added more, and I tried some sparkle glue in a tube, too
lots of different shapes
they pulled off of the parchment paper quite easily although the ones made with the tube glue were thinner, I just had to be gentle with loosening them
1 was broken.....
Wondering how to test out the glue stencils, I decided to create some painted cards to use in the experiment
I made a dozen
this was a dull one, so I added more colour
This was an ugly one, so I piled on some blues and greens
I'll have to use acrylics on this one........
and this had some dots added
Glue gun stencils were fun to create and I'm looking forward to testing them on my cards.
Hope wherever you are, the weather is pleasant, and you have some fun in your day.
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs from Suz

Hi Suz. Love your glue gun stencils and am looking forward to seeing how they work on your beautiful cards. I have also seen glue gun squiggles used as stamps. Creative Bliss Dear...
ReplyDeleteSherry, stamps sound like a good idea, too. Hmmm, I wonder .......
DeleteI shall have to have a stencil play day soon. Thanks.

Margaret, it rained all night and part of the morning, but then the skies cleared and the sun came out, and it felt like spring! Yay! The snow and ice are melting. I’m glad you had some nice weather.

I know what you mean about so many things to try, Judy. I want to try them all! Just not enough hours in the day, though, and DH says I need to sleep, or else I get too grumpy! lol

Probably not something I would try, because I'm a terrible doodler, but it sure is interesting! I'll bet you'd have a blast with one of those 3D printers!
ReplyDeleteI’m sure I would Diane! So many wonderful ‘tools’ out there for creating. Thanks.

Interesting use of glue ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd fun, too!

I saw that same title video and then forgot all about it, so glad you watched. Looking forward to your cards, and deffo intend to give this one a try, finding stencils so expensive with the postage, so making my own will be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda! This way you can make them more personal, too, as well as variations of the ones you like online. I’ve also made stencils with mylar. Fun.

LOL, I had a go (shown on my blog) not 'quite' as good as yours, think I might need more practice. Look forward to your results.
ReplyDeleteAh, practicing is fun! Glad you tried this. I’m off to check your blog.

Great job, Suz, you are so creative! I'm sure the finished cards will look lovely too. We're slowly moving into Spring here at last! Hope you are too!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, yes, spring is arriving in fits and starts. We’re having thunderstorms today. You know that making those cards is just another excuse to play, right? How’s the puppet countdown going?

This is definitely interesting. I did something of a similar sort once by squiggling hot glue onto switch plate covers and then painting them.
