My amaryllis were re-potted quite late this year, but now one plant is in bloom and adds some cheery colour to my kitchen.
looks all fiery in the sunlight!
love the shadows!
ahhh, it's triplets!
I have been consumed by the wrist cuff bracelets. My 'studio' is covered with bracelets in various stages, and so, very little other stitching has been accomplished.
the line-up
most of these just need the button and closure
closer look
I think the third one might need a little more........
some sport tatted flowers, lace, and beads
some have hand embroidery, too.
a bit more embellishing, and it's time for stitching.....
more fabrics cut and in the queue for titivations.........
As all the bracelets need to be finished for the first Saturday in April, all my other stitching has been put on hold.
All proceeds from the Embroidery Guild table sales are being donated to charity. I'll try to get some photos on the Fiber Arts Day.
I am adding a seam embellishment of bullions to my wrapping cloth, but progress is slow.
piece #11
Hope you've had a creative week.
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs from Suz

Wow you have been busy while I was gone, everything look so good! beautiful pictures and cuff wrist things they are coming along well. I have snow flakes to send you if you still have room for them, I am struggling to find your address again and email. I have been gone and misplaced my note book.
ReplyDeleteThat's fabulous, Mad! Yes, there's lots of room for more snowflakes on my tree skirt. Yipee! I shall eagerly wait their arrival. Thank you!

PS found your address all is well!
ReplyDeleteSuz how very generous of you to create sew many cuff bracelets for the Guild Sale proceeds to charity. They are lovely. I just found my Amaryllis bulb in a brown lunch sack in the mechanical room. Love your whitecloths. They are such a work of blissful abandon. Creative Bliss Dear and Spring Sunshine...
ReplyDeleteSherry, you should see some of the wonderful things the Guild creates for this show and sale! So cute! It feels good to be able to give in a small way to one's community (and it's a really nice reason for having to create--ha ha, like I need an excuse, right? lol)
DeleteI hope your amaryllis bulb is still viable. We're getting some spring sunshine....still waiting for spring temperatures though.......it might warm up to normal temperatures this weekend!
Hope the rains come your way soon.
Hugs
your amaryllis is a beauty Lots of bacelets here good luck with the sale. Like the bullions on your wrapping cloth, one of my favourite stitches
ReplyDeleteI think bullions are one of my favourite stitches, too, Margaret! I'm sure the sale will be a success--the Guild table sold out last year, and we hope to have the same sort of response this year, too. Judging by the member's response to the items going on the table, the public will be lucky to find any left once the sale begins! lol

Your amaryllis is beautiful, mine have not flowered yet. Lovely bracelets. Good luck with your sale.
ReplyDeleteYour wrapping cloth is looking lovely as always.
Margaret
Thank you so much, Margaret. One of the amaryllis looks like it won't flower this time, so I shall re-pot it and put it outside, once we have nice weather, so the leaves can feed the bulb, and perhaps I'll have blooms next winter. I wish they smelled as beautiful as they look. What a powerful scent that would be.

Such a beautiful Amaryllis!! I haven't had any flowers around for so long....must go and buy myself some just so I can think about spring. Wonderful cuffs and bullions too.
ReplyDeleteHi MA! Every once in a while I'll buy myself a little bouquet, or a potted mini rose just to add a bit of colour during the grey months of winter. It was nice this year watching the amaryllis grow and bloom after all the bustle of Christmas.
DeleteYour amaryllis is beautiful Suz! Like the triplets:) Oh my! You are really addicted to cuff bracelets..All of them are gorgeous.Love the gathers and bullion in your wrapping cloth.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anita! The cuffs are a lot of fun, but my other stitching keeps calling to me. I know the new HEX LABS patterns will be out soon, too, so my needles are going to be busy! Well, that makes for happy hands and a happy me. Hope your day is happy, too!

Your cuffs are lovely Suzy! Like you my wrapping cloth is a slow go at the moment...but I do try and add to it occasionally...as it is for me I am in no hurry...your additions are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWendy, that's the beauty of the wrapping cloth, isn't it?-- how it evolves as slowly or as quickly as one chooses to stitch it. I feel it's one thing I don't want to rush, which is good, since I'm enjoying the journey. I like to think about each piece before I stitch, and I want to be totally present with my titivations. This cloth I plan to keep for myself, but you never know, as plans can change. .. lol....

What a beauty! and your cuffs are rather lovely too:)!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jules! The triplets are still going strong, and I'm wrapping up the cuffs production soon. Have a great weekend.

Love the casual beauty of the cuff bracelets....look like they would be comfortable to wear. Take some photos of the table on the sale day so we can see all there was to offer. The flower looks so nice...makes me wish for Spring!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are very comfy, Deb, and light, so one might almost forget they are there. I tried one with a credit card, but the cards are too long to fit the curve of the wrist, and I didn't want to make them too wide, so another idea bites the dust.....lol. I shall try to get photos of the table.......

I love your amaryllis and am very impressed that you seem to keep them from year to year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet! It's rather easy to keep them from year to year....not sure just how old these ones are......but so far I've had good luck with them. Hope you are well.

your wrapping cloth can take as long as it needs....it's a labour of love, a beautiful one too.
ReplyDeletehttp://karenannruane.typepad.com/karen_ruane/
Thank you so much, Karen! I agree about the labour of love part, too, as I'm not at all concerned how long it takes seeing as how I enjoy every moment I spend working on my cloth. I'm just happy my other labours didn't last this long.....lol!

I am so late1 reading this that you must havehad the sale by now. I nopeall houf lovely cuffs sold. The amaryllis is gorgeous, hopefully your spring temperatures have arrived by now. Cheers
DeleteThe sale was today, Robin, but I don't know if any of my bracelets sold. I hope so since the funds are being donated. Ah, spring........it's trying to get here.......the snow is gradually melting.........but the temperatures are still below normal. Maybe it will all happen soon and I'll be complaining about the heat....lol

Your amaryllis is a glorious color. Your bracelet are all beautiful , I hope they sold well. Hugs judy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy. I won't find out about the bracelets for a while. The amaryllis is a nice, bright red for sure, and is the only red I have in the house, funny enough.....Your spring hedgerow is gorgeous!

Hi Suz
ReplyDeleteThat amaraylis in red is divine! We grow these in our garden and have a huge display more of the pinky/white ones but i love them all!
What a line up of lacey wrist cuffs. So beautiful too!
Love bullions and will be looking forward to see more soon!
Hugs,
Suzy
Thank you so much, Suzy! I can't imagine a garden filled with amaryllis! I've ever only seen them as an indoor plant. What a display it must be! I wonder, when grown outdoors, do they have much of a scent?
ReplyDeleteHere, the snow is melting, so I'm eager to get out into the gardens, but I think it will be a week or two yet...........
Hugs
It's always so lovely when ones amaryllis bulb flowers. Mine bloomed out a few weeks ago and will have to wait patiently until June when I plant them in the garden for the summer. Your rows of cloth bracelets are really something and looking wonderful. What a neat idea! Especially like the ones with added tatted embellishments. All your bullion stitching on your wrapping cloth are looking great as well and really add to your piece. Hope you're having a warm spring day :)
