I've been slowly working on my White Piece. Here are a few photos showing my progress:
This (oops it's upside down!)
became this: my first attempt at SRE!! I like it. I used a silk ribbon - 'Hydrangea' is the colour with soft tones of blue, pink and mauve.
and with beads added to the picots on this white flower
some 'pearl' beads
a shell heart
another shot of the beaded fancy picot flower
white mini heart beads and little 'pearls'
embroidered hearts
'Pearls' added to the lace with a crystal centre.
There's still a little bit more to finish.
I hope you've been having fun tatting, or CQing, too!
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs from Suz
That is beyond gorgeous! Stunning, even! I can't wait to see the finished piece. Of all the things I have patience for CQ and ribbon embroidery are not two of them. I love reading your blog. You are so talented and always have such interesting posts.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful, such delicate, feminine colours and lovely fine needlework. You are very talented!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful work. I love the use of the beads and pearls as well as silk ribbon embroidery.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be absolutely amazing! Can't wait to see all of it!
ReplyDeleteFox : )
Sooooooooooo Pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Steph! I never used to have patience for fine work either when I was young. Maybe it's because I'm slowing down that I enjoy and value hand work. I'm having fun, though! Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Janet,
ReplyDeleteI think it's the first time I've done anything that could be called delicate and feminine, but I am enjoying the look and feel of it.Thanks for your lovely comments! Hugs
Thank you Diane! It's my first time using silk embroidery, so I was quite pleased with how it turned out. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks Fox! Just a bit more tweaking, some more beads and lace, and, keeping true to myself, a quirky bit! I should be finished soon. Hugs
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, TY!

ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley! I have really enjoyed the tatting on this piece! Hugs
ReplyDeleteThis fabulous stitching and the lovely photos look like something from Piecework Magazine! Simply outstanding work!
ReplyDeleteEmbroidery is not my strong point, so I appreciate your skill here. When I signed on for classes for my Victorian Fan tree skirt (almost 25 years ago!), I hadn't realized embroidery was involved along the seams of every fan! You should have seen what I had to resort to to get even stitches!
This is obviously going to be a very special heirloom! I am in awe!
Thank you so much Kathy for your lovely comments! I hope to frame this piece and hang it on my bedroom wall. It would be wonderful if it became an heirloom! Hugs
ReplyDeleteso beautiful. Every time I stop by your blog I want to try tatting! Oh no, I can't fit in another art hobby right now. :0) soon...in the meantime it's lovely to see yours.
ReplyDeleteHi Katie. Thanks for stopping by. I see you like to embroider, too! Hugs
