A Sunday Stroll

It was a lazy, sunny, Sunday. It was Mother's Day.
Down on the dock, we spotted this guy:

He was still for so long, I wanted to check and make sure all was well.
I snuck down to the lake for a closer look, and disturbed him!  Mr. Mallard had been napping in the warm sunshine.  I made a slow retreat.

I spotted some of my daffs in bloom. finally
.

Later, Cody-dog and I went for a little walk and took the path towards the beaver pond.

we followed the rushing spring waters down the creek a ways. I can hear the water from our yard as it gurgles and rushes over rocks, and stones.

Foaming as it swirls, it flows from the beaver pond, cascading downhill and around boulders.

reflecting the blue of the sky as it puddles around mossy rocks

making ripples

Returning home, I spotted the forsythia in bloom.

Maybe, you'd like to join me for lunch cooked in the lakeside fire pit?
Or sit looking at the lake while we tat or stitch?
Walking into the house, I enjoyed seeing my Mother's Day bouquet welcoming me home.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and a lovely Mother's Day!

Thanks for visiting
Hugs from Suz

Tatting & yes, I'd love to spend time cooking at your fire pit! We'd have all kinds of goodies to enjoy. Plus each others company is priceless!!!

  3. Bsotf, I'd love to have you join me for one of our walks, and have a cook-out at the beach, sit tatting, then, if it's warm enough, go for a swim! We'd have so much fun! Maybe one day,......

  4. Fox,I must have startled him quite a bit: he hasn't been back since! I haven't seen him on the lake, either, so I hope I didn't scare him too much.

  11. Oh, I did, Karen, I did! It was an extended Mother's Day, actually beginning on the Friday with a trip to the city and a shopping spree. What for? Why materials, and embellishments, of course! People shop for other things? lol We had lunch out at a Chinese buffet, and lovely weather. Then Sunday I was spoiled with DH making my meals and serving coffees, and I had the tv remote all to myself that evening!
Now, If I could only convince him that Mother's Day happens every month....! ;-)
